Floyd Mayweather Jr. stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. was born into a boxing family. His father, Lloyd Mayweather, Sr. was a successful welterweight boxer and his uncles were also professional boxers, with his uncle Roger winning two world championships. He began boxing while he was in elementary school and won his first Golden Gloves championship when he was 16. He won the Bronze Medal at the 1996 Olympics in the Featherweight division after a very controversial bout against Bulgaria’s Serafim Todorov, which resulted in one of the judges resigning from his post on the spot. He turned professional in October of 1996 and has not lost a fight since. Of the 41 fights he has won, 25 were via knock out.
